The Aviation Maintenance Technician Lead is a critical role within Blue Hawaiian Helicopters, responsible for overseeing the maintenance operations of our aircraft fleet. This position reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor/Manager and plays a key role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our maintenance department.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in Planning and Scheduling: Collaborate with the Maintenance Supervisor/Manager to plan and schedule maintenance activities, ensuring that all work is completed in a timely and efficient manner.
- Quality Assurance: Monitor and ensure that all maintenance work is performed to the highest standards, in accordance with FAA, manufacturer, and company requirements.
- Supervision and Training: Provide guidance and training to maintenance personnel, ensuring that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
- Facilities and Equipment Management: Ensure that all facilities, aircraft, and equipment are maintained to the highest standards, and that all necessary repairs and maintenance are performed in a timely manner.
- Expendable Items and Tooling Management: Ensure that all expendable items, tooling, and parts are properly managed and accounted for.
- Communication and Collaboration: Work closely with the Maintenance Supervisor/Manager and other departments to ensure that all maintenance activities are coordinated and communicated effectively.
- Problem-Solving and Decision-Making: Use sound judgment and analytical skills to resolve maintenance-related issues and make informed decisions.
- Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent, and 1-3 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Certifications and Licenses: Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate, and manufacturer-specific training on Eurocopter/Turbomeca AS350B2 and EC130B4 and EC130T2.
- Skills and Abilities: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and ability to lift 70 pounds and work in high areas.
This position requires regular attendance and may involve working in various weather conditions. The ability to fly on board aircraft and work in tight spaces is also required.
