Job Summary

The University of Utah's Continuing Education and Community Engagement's English Language Institute is seeking qualified adjunct instructors to teach English as a Second Language (ESL) classes on a rolling basis.

Responsibilities
  • Teach ESL classes in accordance with established curriculum and objectives.
  • Prepare and deliver engaging lesson plans, utilizing provided materials and resources.
  • Attend faculty meetings and sponsored activities to stay informed and connected with colleagues.
  • Maintain accurate attendance records, report daily attendance, and submit grades on a weekly basis.
  • Ensure seamless instruction in the event of an absence by arranging for substitutes.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in TESOL or a related field, with a TESOL Certificate.
  • Proven teaching experience, preferably in various skill levels and settings.
Preferred Qualities
  • Self-motivated and responsible individual.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to interact with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.
