Critical Care Division Chief

Inova Health System is seeking a highly skilled and experienced physician to lead our Critical Care Medicine Service Line as Division Chief. This is a unique opportunity to join a collaborative and high-performing team of over 30 physicians and advanced practice providers who care for the most critically ill patients at all 5 Inova Hospitals.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in critical care medicine, leadership experience, and a passion for improving patient outcomes and experiences. As Division Chief, you will be responsible for driving the development and implementation of clinical critical care quality initiatives, managing critical care physicians and medical directors, and collaborating with nursing, administrative, and medical leaders to develop new programs and services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement clinical critical care quality initiatives to improve patient outcomes and experiences
- Manage critical care physicians and medical directors across all care sites, including TeleICU and Inova Hospitals
- Collaborate with nursing, administrative, and medical leaders to develop new programs and services
- Standardize and align critical care delivery and severity-adjusted outcomes across all critical care and intermediate care units in the system
- Oversee operational aspects affecting adult critical care, including procurement, budget management, regulatory compliance, disaster planning, risk management, and research initiatives
Requirements:
- MD or DO from an accredited university medical school
- Completed ACGME residency training and subsequent fellowship
- Board eligible or board certified in critical care medicine
- Previous healthcare leadership experience
- Current or eligibility for an unrestricted Virginia state medical license and DEA
