Role Overview

A Classroom Teacher at Thornbury High School is responsible for designing and delivering an educational program for their students, aligning with the school's and Department of Education's objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver educational programs for students, ensuring consistency with school and departmental objectives.
  • Teach VCE English, English Literature, English Language, and EAL, with the possibility of teaching VCE Humanities.
  • Contribute to curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Assess student progress, maintain records, and provide reports to parents/guardians.
  • Participate in professional learning communities and undertake other classroom-related duties.
Requirements
  • Relevant VCE English teaching experience, particularly in English, Literature, and EAL.
  • Ability to teach 7-10 English and Humanities classes, with potential for VCE Humanities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Capacity to work collaboratively with colleagues and students.
