Position: Warehouse Worker
Key Responsibilities:
- Transport materials and products from receiving or production areas to designated storage or processing locations.
- Organize and categorize items on shelves, racks, or bins based on established criteria such as size, type, or product code.
- Manage the storage of perishable items in appropriate temperature-controlled environments.
- Respond to requests for materials and distribute supplies to production teams as needed.
- Compile customer orders from inventory and prepare them for shipment or storage.
- Label materials with necessary identification and maintain accurate records of inventory transactions.
- Utilize the Warehouse Management System (WMS) effectively to track production, shipping, receiving, and inventory levels.
- Process outgoing shipments and ensure all documentation complies with established shipping protocols.
- Receive incoming raw materials and complete all required documentation in line with receiving procedures.
- Conduct thorough inspections of trailers and maintain accurate records.
- Monitor tasks to uphold food safety and quality standards, reporting any discrepancies to management.
- Measure or count items for distribution to ensure compliance with company specifications.
- Arrange stock for efficient assembly by other team members.
- Operate vehicles to transport items between warehouse and production areas.
- Prepare samples or parcels for distribution.
- Adhere to safety protocols and utilize equipment responsibly.
- Maintain inventory logs and perform periodic counts as necessary.
Qualifications:
Successful candidates must be willing to operate various types of forklifts.
Education and Experience:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required; experience in a related field is preferred, particularly with forklift operation.
Language Proficiency:
Ability to read and interpret production schedules, inventory reports, and safety regulations. Proficient in writing reports and communicating effectively with team members.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in typing and computer applications, including inventory management and order processing systems. Familiarity with Warehouse Management System software and handheld scanning devices is essential.
Certifications:
Must obtain and maintain a valid forklift and pallet jack operator's license within the first week of employment.
Physical Requirements:
Regularly required to sit, use hands, and communicate. Must be able to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds. Vision requirements include close and distance vision.
Work Environment:
Employees may be exposed to varying conditions, including humidity and noise levels that may require hearing protection.
