Position Overview:
The Emergency Room Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering high-quality patient care in critical situations. This role requires a proactive approach to patient assessment, intervention, and collaboration with the healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize the nursing process to evaluate, plan, implement, and assess patient care.
- Employ clinical judgment to ensure safe and effective patient care delivery.
- Effectively triage patients based on the urgency of their conditions.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments, including obtaining medical histories and recognizing life-threatening issues.
- Communicate promptly with other healthcare professionals involved in patient care.
- Identify abnormal symptoms and changes in patient conditions, establishing priorities and taking appropriate actions.
- Accurately and timely execute provider orders.
- Perform, delegate, and supervise patient care activities within the scope of practice.
- Assist in emergency treatments as required.
- Adhere to emergency protocols and procedures.
- Assess patients' physical, psychosocial, and educational needs.
- Develop and update patient care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Fulfill additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current Registered Nurse License in the relevant state.
- Preferred: Minimum of one year of experience in an emergency room setting.
- Adhere to all professional standards of practice.
- Complete Amergis' Competency program as required.
- Current CPR certification.
- Compliance with health screening requirements.
- Must meet all federal, state, and local regulations.
- Successful completion of new hire training as applicable.
- Understand and maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA standards.
- Strong communication skills, proficiency in English is essential.
- Computer proficiency is required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
