CRNA System Medical Director

The CRNA System Medical Director plays a pivotal role in facilitating communication and understanding among clinical components within the Deaconess Anesthesia Service Line, ensuring high-quality care for patients. This position provides medical perspective, knowledge, experience, and leadership to Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) and fosters collaboration between CRNAs, Physicians, and administrative leadership.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement patient-centered medical care strategies to improve outcomes and reduce costs.
- Establish efficient workflows, practice protocols, and guidelines for managing patient care in anesthesia services.
- Advocate for and monitor a system that provides feedback to providers on cost effectiveness, utilization, and quality outcomes.
- Collaborate with the Operational Leadership Team to formulate and implement Deaconess patient care strategy as it relates to CRNA practice.
- Recruit and direct new service and program opportunities, as well as assist with the orientation and evaluation of new CRNAs.
- Provide regular follow-up on performance metrics, patient satisfaction, and productivity for CRNAs.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide summary reports for Board review and consideration.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of Deaconess' long-term vision, strategic direction, and governance arrangements.
- Oversee the professional environment required to promote high-quality patient care and sound business operations for CRNAs.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with professional, clinical, and administrative policies and procedures.
- Communicate with CRNAs regarding patient complaints and ensure just handling of any complaints.
- Work with the Anesthesia Administrative team on risk management matters and maintain regular communication with key leaders in the Health System.
The CRNA System Medical Director serves as the principal interface between CRNAs and Physicians and the administration of Deaconess Health System. This position requires strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
