Job Summary

TravelCenters of America is seeking a skilled Cashier II to join our team. As a key member of our store team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our guests, ensuring a seamless shopping experience. Your primary duties will include processing transactions, maintaining a clean and well-stocked food and beverage area, and assisting with receiving and stocking merchandise.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide excellent customer service, ensuring a positive experience for every guest
  • Process transactions efficiently and accurately, maintaining a high level of cash handling skills
  • Maintain a clean and organized store environment, including the food and beverage area
  • Assist with receiving and stocking merchandise, ensuring accurate inventory levels
  • Train lower-level cashiers on job duties and responsibilities
  • Prioritize tasks according to store and management needs
  • Follow safety guidelines and report any potential hazards
  • Establish strong communication and rapport with leaders and coworkers
Requirements
  • 2+ years of cashier experience preferred
  • Computer/POS knowledge required
  • Cash handling skills required
  • Merchandising/stocking experience preferred
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays

Working Conditions

This role requires continuous sitting and typing, frequent talking, and occasional lifting and moving objects. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
