As a key member of the GILLIG team, you will play a critical role in the company's mission to provide environmentally friendly mobility solutions. Your responsibilities will include safely driving buses as required for Shakedown testing or delivery of local buses around the SF Bay area within 100-mile radius, starting point of Livermore, CA.

Occasionally, you will be responsible for driving chase cars as needed after local deliveries to pick up fellow drivers. The ideal candidate would desire a regular schedule, enjoy the variety of driving assignments, and be proud to be an integral part of GILLIG's dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operating buses safely and efficiently along designated routes
  • Adhering to all traffic laws and regulations while driving
  • EV Bus Shakedown Testing
  • Shuttling buses around GILLIG yard
  • Delivering buses to local customer locations
  • Reporting any bus malfunctions or safety concerns to supervisor
  • Keeping record of routes and mileage
  • Conducting pre trip and post trip inspections of the buses
  • Performing other related duties, as required

Requirements:

  • Must possess a valid commercial driver's license (CLASS A or B) with passenger endorsement
  • Clean driving record with no accidents or violations
  • Familiarity with local routes and traffic patterns a plus
  • Reliable and on-time with neat, professional appearance and manner
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Prior experience as a bus driver preferred
  • In compliance with FMCSA regulations, drivers will be subject to random drug and alcohol testing through a third-party consortium

Work Environment:

  • Ability to lift 25 lbs.
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and occasionally kneel or squat

Compensation:

  • Hourly Rate: $30 - $35 + premium benefits
  • Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job classification, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience
