Family Support Program Supervisor

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Family Support Program Supervisor is responsible for fostering and executing exemplary standards of family-oriented practices and service delivery within the Healthy Families America initiative. This role requires effective communication to meet program objectives through leadership and inspiration. The supervisor will enhance professional growth within the organization by offering constructive guidance and oversight to designated team members.
REPORTING STRUCTURE:
This position reports directly to the Director of Family Support Services, working under regular guidance and supervision, in alignment with the organization's mission, values, and program objectives.
EDUCATIONAL AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
- A Master's degree or higher that meets the Rhode Island Department of Health and Healthy Families America Practice Standards for supervisory roles, or
- Completion of an advanced study program necessary for certification, licensure, or registration in the relevant field, or
- Possession of a current certificate, license, or registration as specified by the Rhode Island Department of Health guidelines and Healthy Families America Practice Standards.
- Comprehensive knowledge in pertinent areas such as infant and toddler development, parent-child bonding, family-centered and strengths-based services, maternal-infant mental health, and the complexities surrounding child abuse and neglect.
- Experience in delivering services within community and home environments, particularly with culturally diverse families.
- A minimum of three years of direct service experience with young children and their families, along with at least two years of experience supervising direct care personnel.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
- Ability to effectively communicate with colleagues, clients, and other professionals both in person and via telephone.
- Capability to provide services in clients' homes and within the community, requiring reliable transportation.
- Completion of Healthy Families America core training for supervisors by an approved trainer is mandatory.
- Participation in at least 8 hours of topical training annually in areas such as Management Supervisory Skill Development, Quality Improvement, Ethical and Risk Management, Collaborative Problem Solving, and Community Team Building is required.
