Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Financial Services Advisor to join our team at Sonoran Desert Institute. As a Financial Services Advisor, you will be responsible for assisting students with securing funding via VA Benefits.

Key Responsibilities
  • Compliance and Processing: Comply with all Federal, State, accreditation, and institutional policies and procedures.
  • VA Document Processing: Process VA documents and serve as the point of contact for students utilizing VA benefits.
  • Certification and Eligibility: Certify Veteran student benefits while maintaining knowledge of Veteran benefit eligibility requirements.
  • Operational Tracking: Prepare operational tracking reports as requested by management.
  • File Reviews and Audits: Assist with file reviews, audits, and other regulatory requirements as needed.
  • Student Communication: Communicate daily with students via phone and email communication, while providing exceptional customer service.
  • System Updates: Update all necessary systems with pertinent student information.
  • Cancellations and Start Date Changes: Coordinate cancellations and start date changes.
  • Award Letters: Produce and send all award letters.
Requirements
  • Education: Associate's Degree in finance, public administration, accounting, human resources, counseling, or a related field is required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience: Two years of student advising or customer service experience, required. Two or more years of VA benefits experience, required.
  • Related Experience: Related experience (such as bank loan officer, tax consultant, student records, counseling, or admissions) may be substituted for up to one year of the required experience.
