Job Description

MedPOINT Management is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Credentialing Specialist to join our team. This role will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our credentialing database system, while also maintaining compliance with accrediting and regulatory agencies.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical credentialing procedures and standards, as well as excellent written and oral communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs, particularly Word and Excel, is also required.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading, coordinating, and monitoring the review and analysis of practitioner applications and accompanying documents.
  • Identifying issues that require additional investigation and evaluation, validating discrepancies, and ensuring appropriate follow-up.
  • Preparing credentials files for completion and presentation to MedPOINT's Credentialing Committee.
  • Responding to inquiries from health plans and provider offices/clinics, and interfacing with internal and external customers on day-to-day credentialing issues.

This role requires a minimum of 2 years' experience with hospital medical staff or managed care credentialing, and NAMSS Certification as a Certified Professional Medical Services Manager (CPMSM) or Certified Provider Credentials Specialist (CPCS) is highly preferred.

Estimated Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year
