At Abbott, we are seeking an Electrical Engineer II to join our team in Sylmar, CA. As an Electrical Engineer II, you will be responsible for developing and executing tests to assess MRI safety of electronic implantable products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to safety evaluations for implantable device systems.
- Perform simulations to model electromagnetic or thermal effects on implantable systems.
- Apply appropriate excitation sources in the simulation environment to characterize the electrical response of the implanted device.
- Collect bench measurements using off-the-shelf as well as custom lab instrumentation and fixturing.
- Prepare and submit invention disclosures and steer investigations into promising areas.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related discipline.
- 3-5+ years' experience, mainly in R&D engineering.
- Experience executing simulations using applications such as Sim4Life, CST Microwave Studio, ANSYS HFSS.
- Proficiency with analytical tools and applications such as MATLAB, Excel, LabVIEW, Python.
