Summary: The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the cleanliness and grooming of dogs in our care. Our operations run throughout the year, and bathers are expected to fulfill their scheduled shifts. The majority of the role involves standing and bathing, brushing, and drying dogs, with a smaller portion dedicated to maintaining the cleanliness of the grooming area and handling related laundry tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Bathing, drying, and brushing dogs
- Keeping accurate grooming records
- Maintaining the grooming room, including cleaning and laundering as needed
Qualifications: To excel in this position, candidates must demonstrate the ability to perform essential duties effectively. The following qualifications are necessary:
- Preferred experience with dog handling, which may include pet ownership or participation in animal training seminars.
- Physical capabilities to perform demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for extended periods.
- Effective communication skills for discussing dog-related issues with management.
- Basic mathematical skills for cleaning tasks and handling transactions.
- Familiarity with Windows-based applications is advantageous.
Health Requirements: All candidates must be current on their Tetanus vaccination.
Reasoning Skills: Ability to identify problems, assess emergencies, and respond appropriately.
