Job Summary:

As an MRI Technologist at UF Health, you will be responsible for performing magnetic resonance imaging procedures for diagnosis and treatment. This role requires independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform imaging exams in accordance with established policies, procedures, regulations, and laws, collaborating with physicians to evaluate images and report abnormalities immediately.
  • Follow established protocols for all imaging equipment, performing routine daily, weekly, monthly, and periodic maintenance and function checks.
  • Assist during exams, treatments, and procedures, including chaperoning correlating findings with procedure being performed and ensuring Time-Out observed on appropriate procedures according to policy.
  • Demonstrate proficiency at inserting and maintaining IVs.
  • Collect laboratory samples and perform lab testing in accordance with CLIA regulations and established policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate ability to perform laboratory Quality Controls and Assessments, and routine daily, weekly, monthly, and periodic maintenance and function according to Laboratory Policy and Procedure.
  • Ensure proper supplies, appropriate medical equipment, and medications are available for patient care and Par levels meet facility needs.
  • Participate in QAPI activities, including participation in accreditation preparation and survey process, and maintenance of accreditation, state, and CMS standards.
  • Adhere to established facility/departmental policies and procedures.
  • Prepare patient meals as needed in accordance with physician orders and hospital protocols.
  • Attend and participate in all applicable facility meetings, training, and development workshops.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by Manager.

Requirements:
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: Required advanced MRI certification upon hire. Prefer at least one year of experience as MRI Technologist. Licensure/Certification/Registration: Required ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT registered technologist. Must have current BLS certification. Motor Vehicle Operator Designation: Will operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose as a frequent driver.
