Job Summary

DMC Receiving Hospital is seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team in a full-time night shift position. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic radiological exams, verifying patient identity, and reviewing medical records for appropriateness of exams or procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interview patients to obtain, verify, or update medical history and assess risk factors
  • Explain procedures to patients, including side effects of pharmaceuticals, risks, benefits, alternatives, and follow-up
  • Set up equipment and acquire appropriate images as per script
  • Review images, make initial observations, document exceptions from established protocols, and communicate data to radiologists
  • Recognize and respond to medical emergencies as appropriate
  • Provide physician-prescribed post-care instructions to patients
  • Participate in process improvement activities within radiology practice, including quality of care, patient flow, reject-repeat analysis, and patient satisfaction
  • Provide imaging education to residents, student technologists, and new employees
Requirements
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiography (R)
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BLS) training
  • Strong analytical and clinical skills, with ability to work effectively in a culturally diverse atmosphere
  • Technical knowledge necessary to operate equipment, including specialized equipment and computers
  • Ability to work productively and effectively within a complex environment, handle multiple/changing priorities
  • Physical stamina for frequent walking, standing, lifting, and positioning of patients
