This is a non-treating, non-determination position focused solely on assessments. As an independent contractor, you will enjoy autonomy in your work and have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of Veterans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review medical records through a secure web portal to prepare for each exam.
  • Perform comprehensive eye exams, including Visual Field Testing (VFT).
  • Complete and submit evaluation forms within 24 hours of each exam.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must:

  • Be a licensed Optometrist or Ophthalmologist.

  • Excel in analyzing medical records and exam findings to create accurate reports.
  • Have excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Be detail-oriented and able to meet submission deadlines.
Compensation

The estimated annual salary for this role is around $75,000-$90,000 depending on experience and location. This figure is based on national averages for optometrists in similar positions.
