About the Opportunity

Amarillo College is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Adjunct Faculty member to join our team as an Academic Instructor in Mathematics. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on students' lives while being part of a dynamic and inclusive community.

Job Summary

We are looking for a qualified individual with a Master's degree in Mathematics or a related field to teach mathematics courses at Amarillo College. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching mathematics in higher education and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Teaching: Teach mathematics courses, develop engaging lesson plans, and utilize effective instructional methods to promote student involvement and application of material.
  • Course Development: Participate in course and curriculum development, revision, and evaluation to ensure alignment with institutional guidelines.
  • Assessment and Evaluation: Design and implement assessments to measure student learning outcomes and evaluate students' progress.
  • Student Support: Meet with students before/after class, by appointment, or electronically to provide guidance and support.
Requirements
  • Education: Master's degree in Mathematics or a related field required; 18 graduate hours in Mathematics preferred.
  • Experience: Experience teaching/tutoring mathematics in higher education; experience tutoring mathematics preferred.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $ 50,000 - 70,000 per year, based on highest level of education and location. Part-time employees are entitled to a free gym membership, free tuition up to 6 credits per semester, and a generous retirement plan.

Work Environment

This role may operate in a classroom, online, or tech-supported setting, requiring the ability to work effectively in a variety of environments. The employee must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and varying events if necessary.
