Job Summary

  • Flow Control: Control the flow of guests coming into the restaurant and bar, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience.
  • Anticipating Guest Needs: Anticipate guest needs and respond accordingly, ensuring their expectations are met and exceeded.
  • Problem-Solving: Maintain a proactive approach to solving any guest questions or problems, ensuring a positive outcome.
  • Table Management: Direct guests to the appropriate waiting area and provide table updates, ensuring they are informed and satisfied.
  • Farewell and Follow-Up: Bid farewell to guests, using their name, and encouraging them to return to the restaurant, ensuring a positive and lasting impression.
  • Work Environment: Maintain a clean and sanitized work environment, adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Communication: Answer phone calls and direct them to the appropriate department, ensuring efficient communication and response.
  • Team Supervision: Assist in supervising food servers, bussers, and food runners as it relates to guest contact and table information, ensuring a cohesive and effective team.
  • Reservations and Seating: Oversee daily restaurant reservations and pre-assign seating when necessary, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience.
  • Communication with Management: Communicate with management regarding special orders, cake orders, special requests, and VIP requests, ensuring seamless execution.
  • Shift Closure: Shut down podium and reorganize host stand at end of a shift, ensuring a smooth transition.
  • Lost Items: Ensure that all lost items are returned to management, adhering to company policies.
  • Brand Ambassador: Act as a brand ambassador for The H Group, ensuring a positive and lasting impression of our company.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance of all procedures and policies set forth by the company, division, and Health Department, adhering to industry standards.
  • Opening and Closing Duties: Perform all opening and closing duties as assigned, ensuring a smooth and efficient operation.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year experience as a host in a high-volume, fine dining setting.
  • Age: Must be 21+ years of age.
  • Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Certifications: Must have a Certified Food Handlers card and Responsible Beverage Service Training.
  • Time Management: Must have excellent time management skills.
  • Professionalism: Must be able to maintain a professional demeanor in a fast-paced environment.
  • Reliability: Must be reliable, responsible, and trustworthy.
  • Energy and Communication: Must have high energy, great communication skills, and be able to work as part of a team.
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to stand during entire shift, often up to 8 hours with frequent bending, squatting, and lifting plates, boxes, and objects up to 30lbs.
  • Attention to Detail: Must have attention to detail and willingness to deliver exceptional customer service.
