Job Title: Engineering Inspector

We are seeking a highly skilled Engineering Inspector to join our team at the City of Sunrise FL. As an Engineering Inspector, you will be responsible for conducting inspections of construction projects to ensure compliance with city standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct inspections of construction projects to ensure compliance with city standards and regulations.
  • Review construction documents and materials lists to ensure compliance with approved plans.
  • Meet with contractors, developers, and government agencies to discuss project progress and address any issues.
  • Inspect sites, roadways, and utility improvements to ensure compliance with city standards and regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Make written reports to superiors on project progress and any issues encountered.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Five years of experience in constructing underground utilities, storm drainage, and pavement systems.
  • Certification in one of the following areas: State of Florida Underground Utility and Excavation Contractor, Broward County Specialty Engineered Construction Contractor Category 1A Certificate of Competency, State of Florida Certified General Contractor, State of Florida Water Distribution Class 3 (or higher), or 10 years' experience installing/inspecting underground water, sewer, and/or drainage utilities infrastructure and/or pavement.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • State of Florida DEP Stormwater Erosion and Sedimentation Control certification.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
