Position Overview:
The Department of Family & Community Medicine at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University is on the lookout for exceptional candidates for the position of Assistant Professor (or higher) in Family and Sports Medicine.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the Lead Team Physician for Temple University Athletics, fulfilling the role of NCAA Health Care Administrator.
- Supervise the athletic training staff, graduate assistants, and students within the Temple University framework.
- Oversee and enhance policies and procedures to promote organizational development in line with local and national healthcare standards.
- Maintain an active clinical schedule within the Family Medicine Residency program to ensure patient care aligns with access demands.
- Collaborate in the advancement of the sports medicine program within the Department of Family & Community Medicine.
- Serve as the team physician and lead director of athletic medicine for Division I athletics at Temple University.
Department Overview:
The Department of Family and Community Medicine operates an ACGME-accredited 6/6/6 Residency Program, playing a significant educational role within the Lewis Katz School of Medicine. Our faculty is dedicated to community outreach initiatives in the North Philadelphia area, alongside maintaining a clinical practice on the Temple University Health Sciences Campus.
Candidate Qualifications:
- Possession of an M.D. or D.O. with active board certification in Family Medicine and Sports Medicine.
- Academic credentials suitable for a faculty appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor or higher.
- Eligibility for an unrestricted medical license from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
- Current knowledge and experience in crisis management, emergency preparedness, national healthcare issues, industry trends, and best practices in primary healthcare and sports medicine.
- Commitment to fostering diversity among faculty, staff, students, and patients, with a proven ability to build positive relationships with various stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in an ACGME accredited Family Medicine Residency and Sports Medicine Fellowship, including roles such as Fellowship Director or Program Director.
- 5 years of leadership experience demonstrating excellence in emotional intelligence and communication skills.
