Key Responsibilities:
The Imaging Services Support Specialist plays a crucial role in our Imaging Services department by:
- Welcoming and assisting all customers who arrive in the Imaging Services area.
- Handling incoming calls and directing them to the appropriate departments or Radiologists' offices.
- Understanding various workflows related to the electronic transmission of images to physician offices and internal departments, including Surgery, ICU, and the Emergency Department.
- Transferring digital images to hardcopy film as needed and digitizing external films for integration into PACS.
- Occasionally transporting patients to and from Imaging services.
- Utilizing and troubleshooting a network of computerized systems for processing, archiving, and retrieving imaging studies.
- Participating in rotating work assignments that promote teamwork, collaboration, and respect, reflecting the mission and values of CommonSpirit Health.
Essential Skills:
- Exhibiting excellent customer relations skills to all internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensuring accurate anatomy sequences are recorded onto discs.
- Locating physical records using medical record numbers.
- Maintaining Release of Information records in accordance with hospital policy.
- Facilitating efficient customer throughput through effective communication via telephone, intercom, and fax.
- Providing coverage for other departmental support roles as necessary.
- Creating reference studies in the hospital's radiology system for the integration of external imaging from other facilities' PACS systems.
- Demonstrating knowledge and problem-solving abilities related to the disc burning system (Rimage) for PACS.
- Managing and distributing reports as required.
- Exercising good judgment in prioritizing data management tasks.
- Performing other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent is required.
