POSITION SCOPE AND OBJECTIVES:
The Custodial position is essential for maintaining the cleanliness and safety of The Salvation Army facilities. This includes ensuring a hygienic and welcoming environment for all operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Essential duties include but are not limited to:
- Interior Cleaning: sweeping, mopping, waxing, and buffing floors.
- Carpet Care: vacuuming and shampooing carpets.
- Furniture Maintenance: dusting and polishing furniture and wood surfaces.
- Restroom Sanitation: cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, sinks, and fixtures.
- Window Care: washing windows and cleaning blinds.
- Waste Management: emptying and cleaning trash receptacles.
- Exterior Upkeep: mowing lawns, trimming hedges, and maintaining landscaping.
- Seasonal Maintenance: removing snow and ice from walkways and driveways.
- Event Support: setting up tables, chairs, and equipment for various activities and events.
- Vehicle Maintenance: ensuring fleet vehicles are maintained and ready for use.
- Food Pantry Assistance: supporting the collection and distribution of food items.
Qualifications:
Required Skills and Experience:
- Handyman or tradesman skills are preferred.
- Familiarity with cleaning products and equipment, with a willingness to learn proper cleaning techniques.
- Experience using manual and power tools safely.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Valid Driver's License that meets organizational insurance standards.
- Capability to operate a 12-passenger van.
