Job Summary:
As a CPI Investigation Specialist with the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, you will play a critical role in protecting the safety and well-being of children in Texas. You will investigate claims of child abuse and neglect, gathering information and interviewing individuals to determine the best course of action to ensure the child's safety. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced and emotionally charged environment.

Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct thorough investigations of child abuse and neglect reports, gathering information and interviewing individuals as needed
• Assess the safety and risk of harm to children, taking necessary actions to protect them
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with law enforcement, judicial officials, and other stakeholders
• Participate in regular on-call rotations, responding to situations of abuse and neglect after normal business hours
• Document all relevant information gathered during investigations, completing required forms accurately and in a timely manner
• Collaborate with families to identify resources and support to help them keep their children safe
• Work in a team environment to achieve unit goals and objectives

Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field
• 2+ years of experience in child protective services or a related field
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and emotionally charged environment
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Ability to pass a background check and maintain confidentiality
