Job Title: Social Caseworker C

Job Summary:

The Arapahoe County Government is seeking a highly skilled Social Caseworker C to join our team. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for providing facilitation and coordination services to organize and conduct Family Group Conferences, Youth Centered Permanency, Preparation for Adulthood, and LINKS meetings for Child and Adult Protection Services staff, families, service providers, and others.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate family meetings using a structured framework with clients, stakeholders, and department staff, focusing on permanency and best practices.
  • Demonstrate a thorough knowledge and understanding of social casework principles, concepts, and ethics by using a strength-based and solution-focused practice.
  • Analyze complex situations, formulate plans, and make quick decisions as needed.
  • Practice strategies that result in effective engagement of families during the course of the case.
  • Coordinate and ensure that meetings are regularly held, locating and preparing family members, caseworkers, relatives, and service providers for their roles in the meeting.
  • Mediate difficult interactions between parties of the case.
  • Use diligent search techniques to locate family and kin of children.

  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to deliver effective customer service and communication skills in a professional manner with a diverse client base.
  • Ability to work under stressful conditions in a professional manner.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental and legal regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from court, groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and state and county computer systems.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with a major in a human behavior science field and two years of professional child welfare casework experience.
  • OR Master of Social Work or a human behavioral science field and one year of professional child welfare experience.

Salary:

$66,000 - $76,622 per year.
