Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Ochsner Health. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for assessing patients and performing routine radiographic procedures in accordance with prescribed safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify physician orders and procedures to ensure accuracy
  • Operate radiology information systems to facilitate patient care
  • Explain procedures to patients to ensure understanding
  • Independently operate imaging equipment to complete procedures according to protocol
  • Review patient images prior to transmission to ensure diagnostic quality standards
  • Complete timely quality control procedures and perform notification/remediation as warranted
  • Assist in departmental operations, including inventory, staff schedules, and equipment maintenance
Requirements
  • Completion of an approved radiologic technology program
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or registry eligible
  • Current unrestricted license in the state of practice
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
Preferred Qualifications
  • Radiologic technology experience
Work Environment

This role requires working in a patient care area, with exposure to blood, body fluids, and tissue. The incumbent may be at risk for occupational exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste.
