We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Staff Pharmacist 2 to join our team at UC Davis Health System. As a key member of our pharmacy team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality pharmaceutical services to our patients, employees, and medical staff.
Key Responsibilities- Provide clinical pharmacy services, including drug therapy monitoring, distribution, and information.
- Precept pharmacy students and residents, conduct clinical research, and participate in department and hospital committees.
- Foster excellent interdepartmental relationships and work collaboratively with healthcare professionals.
- California Pharmacist License eligible and possess a valid license at the time of hire.
- PGY1 pharmacy practice residency.
- Previous clinical pharmacy experience in inpatient or ambulatory clinic.
- Ability to communicate well and make independent decisions to resolve minor problems as they arise.
- Complete working knowledge of, and skill to apply, practices, principles, and techniques of all aspects of patient care related to comprehensive medication management and chronic disease management.
- Ability to accurately perform pharmacy calculations.
- Ability to obtain information from a patient or patient's chart to create a management plan.
- Ability to effectively communicate patient care plans to healthcare professionals.
- Familiarity with relevant clinical practice and regulatory guidelines related to the care of chronic disease management.
- Pharmacist Board Certification [e.g., Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS), Board Certified Ambulatory Care Pharmacist (BCACP), or Certified Specialty Pharmacist (CSP)].
- Certification in specialty area, if currently available.
- PGY2 ambulatory care residency.
- Written and oral communication skills to clearly and concisely provide information, explanations, and instructions to, and to elicit information from others with varying levels of ability to understand, including individuals who are ill or distressed, or who may not speak English.
- Problem-solving skills to independently recognize and define a problem, identify the resources available to help solve the problem, create and implement viable solutions, and follow through to ensure the problem is resolved to the satisfaction of all parties.
- Decision-making skills to independently exercise delegated authority to take action, and to recognize when it is appropriate to seek assistance from others when limits of delegated authority have been reached.
- Ability to work with and direct health care professionals.
- Ability to lead technicians and establish priorities of workflow.
