Job Summary
The Nurse Coordinator at Avera McKennan Hospital is responsible for creating a seamless patient transfer process within our healthcare system. This involves collaborating with nursing departments, outlying facilities, and physicians to ensure efficient patient movement.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to facilitate patient transfers, identifying potential delays and providing communication between care team members
- Monitor patient transfers, ensuring continuity of care and open communication
- Coordinate patient placement, arranging accepting physicians and confirming bed availability
Requirements
- Graduate from a CCNE or NLN accredited nursing program
- Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred
- Minimum of two years nursing experience preferred
- Previous patient placement and logistics experience preferred
Licensure and Certification
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of South Dakota and/or meeting the requirements of multi-state licensure
- Certification in specialty preferred
- Membership in a professional organization preferred
Work Schedule
- Rotating Day/Evening/Nights/Weekends, every third weekend and holiday
Compensation
The hourly range for this position is $48.75 per hour, dependent on experience.
