As a Registered Nurse Lead at CHRISTUS Health, you will play a vital role in supporting and coordinating the day-to-day activities of nursing personnel in patient care units. You will provide direction to Clinical Staff, implement work of assigned units, and coordinate activities with other patient care units and related departments.

- Organize and oversee patient care delivery during an assigned shift, ensuring proper staffing and smooth operations of a patient care unit.
- Coach and counsel individual team members, monitor and provide feedback on performance, and address training needs.
- Document daily staffing, operational, and administrative records, maintaining compliance with governmental policies and procedures.
- Provide direction and support to nursing staff, demonstrating and promoting respect for the dignity and rights of every patient, and assist with communications with patients and families.
- Allocate team resources responsibly and equitably, delegate appropriate levels of responsibility and authority, and provide oversight and guidance.
- MEDIATE AND RESOLVE CONFLICTS AMONG INDIVIDUALS, GROUPS, AND DEPARTMENTS.
- Use critical thinking skills to assess the basic physical, psychosocial, social, cultural, spiritual, and developmental needs of patients and families.
- Communicate findings to appropriate healthcare team members.
- Develop and use a specific plan of care and modify it to meet individual patient needs using evidence-based practice. Implement patient care and therapeutic procedures, monitor and document progression of treatment and teaching goals.
- Evaluate the care and treatment provided to the patient and the patient's response to the care and treatment.
- Perform timely reassessment and documentation.
- Must be able to perform unit-specific competencies based on the specific patient care need for designated units patient population.
- Anticipate and plan for admission/discharge/transfer needs to facilitate patient flow.
- Utilize appropriate systems of communication and tools to facilitate the discharge process.
- Coach on tools and techniques for checking, cross-checking, and validating orders to ensure accuracy.
- Plan, direct, and evaluate the overall nursing care and functions in a particular nursing unit during an assigned shift.
- Demonstrate good stewardship in the proper use and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
- Assess departmental staffing needs; actively participate in resourcing efforts.
- Educate and train others on the operations, ethics, and regulations within the industry.
- Incorporate patient safety practices/guidelines to promote a safe environment resulting in positive patient outcomes.
- Demonstrate accountability for nursing research and quality improvement activities.
- Provide evidence-based nursing care.
- Communicate patient information effectively across the continuum of care.
- Educate and train others on the operations, ethics, and regulations within the industry.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for patient care.
- Give continuing feedback, recognize achievement, and recommend improvement as a patient care subject matter expert.
- Support proper allocation of team resources, delegate appropriate levels of responsibility and authority, and provide support and guidance for high-quality patient care.
- MEDIATE AND RESOLVE CONFLICTS AMONG INDIVIDUALS, GROUPS, AND DEPARTMENTS.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, preferred.
- 2 years of clinical patient care experience in a relevant setting.
- BLS required.
- RN License in state of employment or compact.
