Hi-Way Paving, Inc. is a leading contractor specializing in heavy civil construction, focusing on extensive concrete paving, stormwater management, and excavation projects. We are currently in search of dedicated Prep Crew Laborers who are willing to travel frequently between various project sites.

This role involves the preparation and assembly of forms, installation of reinforcing steel, and readiness for slip-form concrete paving operations. Ideal candidates are those who thrive in dynamic environments and are prepared for physically demanding work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain construction and paving sites.
  • Construct and position forms for concrete.
  • Install rebar and other stabilizing steel components.
  • Handle materials such as dirt, gravel, and concrete using shovels and rakes.
  • Interpret blueprints, instructions, and specifications to carry out tasks effectively.
  • Manage the loading and unloading of construction materials and tools.
  • Distribute materials according to project specifications.
  • Utilize hand and power tools as required.
  • Assist in directing traffic and signaling equipment operators.
  • Operate machinery including backhoes and skid steer loaders, as qualified.
  • Communicate efficiently with team members and site management.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and practices at all times.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in construction labor preferred.
  • Background in heavy or highway construction is advantageous.
  • Must be willing to travel overnight to job sites.
  • Ability to obtain clearance for restricted areas.
  • Valid driver's license is required.
  • Physical demands include lifting, carrying up to 75 lbs., and performing various physical activities.
