Job Description
  • Perform light and medium duty diesel truck mechanical and warranty repairs, in-fleeting and vehicle certification and reconditioning services according to company policy and procedures.
Responsibilities
  1. Ensure that all warranty and mechanical repairs are completed according to the manufacturer's specifications and guidelines.
  2. Provide safe and reliable vehicles upon completion of repairs.
  3. Perform routine and annual DOT required repairs and inspections.
  4. Read and interpret diagnostic test results, often by using dials, gauges, and other computer equipment.
  5. Raise trucks, buses, and heavy parts or equipment by using hydraulic jacks or hoists.
  6. Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, transmissions, engines, and other parts of vehicles.
  7. Do routine maintenance, such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and parts.
  8. Maintain vehicle repair history by documenting a Repair Order to accurately reflect steps taken and part(s) used during the repair.
  9. Comply with part and inventory tracking procedures.
  10. Utilize multiple manufacturers' websites, software and diagnostic tools.
  11. May process new fleet, LOFR, tires, fuel reclamation or buy-backs.
  12. Participate in company and manufacturer approved training or other industry related training.
  13. Maintain the work area in a safe, clean condition and comply with all uniform and equipment standards.
  14. Maintain a regular and reliable level of attendance and punctuality.
  15. Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
