Position Overview
At Covenant House New Jersey, our mission is to empower homeless youth to overcome their obstacles and lead fulfilling, independent lives. We offer a comprehensive range of services, including food, shelter, clothing, medical care, educational and vocational support, counseling, and legal assistance. Additionally, we provide life skills training, recreational activities, aftercare, and support for educational advancement. Our service delivery is rooted in the commitment to protect and support all youth.

Role Responsibilities
  • Oversee youth activities within the facility, which may encompass the cafeteria, gym, dormitories, or communal spaces.
  • Maintain a secure and healthy environment that embodies the principles of Covenant House.
  • Accompany youth to external events and activities.
  • Record details regarding all interactions with clients and communications with external agencies.
  • Conduct intake assessments, orientation sessions, and manage the distribution of self-administered medication as required.
  • Ensure proper allocation and documentation of petty cash.
We are seeking multiple per-diem (On-Call) staff members to cover overnight shifts.

Shift Details
The overnight schedule is from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM or 12:00 AM to 8:00 AM.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong communication and crisis management skills, with the ability to manage physically demanding situations.
  • Exceptional assessment and decision-making abilities.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Must be fully vaccinated.
