Senior Tax Professional Opportunity

Gable Search Group is seeking a highly skilled Tax Manager to join our dynamic team. As a Tax Manager, you will be responsible for leading our tax department and overseeing the preparation of tax returns and governmental tax examinations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct technical tax reviews and approvals of tax returns and governmental tax examinations.
  • Assume full responsibility for larger tax returns, delegating tasks to tax preparers as needed.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge and proficiency in advanced technical skills required for advising clients.
  • Manage all tasks related to client service, ensuring assignments are completed within budgeted time.
  • Delegate and oversee tax research projects to ensure accurate and efficient results.
  • Manage governmental tax examinations, potentially representing clients before taxing authorities.
  • Maintain familiarity with qualifications of tax staff members and review staff assignments for appropriateness.
  • Supervise tax staff, providing on-the-job training and guidance.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Develop, coach, and train Supervising Seniors, Seniors, Semi-seniors, and Staff accountants.
  • Familiarize with the qualifications of all Tax staff members to tailor training effectively.
  • Participate in reviews and evaluations of the Tax Department.

Requirements:

  • Minimum five to seven years' experience in public accounting, demonstrating progressive expertise in tax complexity, scope, and research.
  • Minimum one year of supervisory experience directing tax preparers' work.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting required; Master's degree in taxation preferred.
  • Current and valid certified public accountant's license is required.
