Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Radiologic Technologist 1 to join our team at Jackson Health System. As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist, you will be responsible for operating radiological equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images for patients in various clinical settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate stationary and mobile x-ray equipment to produce radiographs of chest, abdomen, extremities, spine, and other areas.
  • Position patients and take required radiographs following fluoroscopic examinations.
  • Adjust equipment at appropriate angles and heights and position patients appropriately for x-ray examinations.
  • Provide radiation protection in accordance with prescribed age-specific safety standards.
  • Compute technical factors to produce radiographs of proper detail, density, and contrast.
  • Transport patients to and from holding areas or other assigned areas.
  • Operate portable x-ray equipment to perform chest or other examinations at the bedside.
  • Provide and use immobilization devices as required, while adhering to safety standards.
  • Assist radiologists or other medical specialists during fluoroscopy.
  • Assist physicians in administering contrast materials.
  • Maintain safety standards and assist supervisors in demonstrating techniques to radiologic technology students.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in Radiology Technology is required.
  • Valid Florida state license as a Radiology Technologist is required.
  • ARRT Certification is required (employees hired before 2/1/2017 must obtain certification by 12/31/2019).
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification is required.
