bJob Summary:/bbrbrAs an Upholstery Craftsman at TUUCI, you will be responsible for manufacturing high-quality upholstery for furniture. You will design and craft cushions for comfort and decoration, working with various materials such as foam, fabric, springs, webbing, and nails. Your attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment will be essential in meeting production targets.brbrbKey Responsibilities:/bulliWork with Engineering and designers to coordinate fabrics, furnishings, patterns, and colors./liliMeasure and cut fabric or leather to fit furniture frames with precision./liliDevelop proficiency in sewing techniques, including stitching fabric pieces together, creating seams, and ensuring durability./liliUnderstand and work with various upholstery materials, including foam, fabric, springs, webbing, and nails./liliApply finishes to furniture, such as attaching fabric securely, using staples, glue, or tacks./liliCreate cushions for comfort and decoration, choosing materials like cotton, wool, down, feathers, polyester, or foam./liliApply webbing to provide support for padding and springs in furniture./liliPerform basic carpentry skills, including breaking apart furniture frames or making adjustments./liliAttach fasteners, grommets, buttons, buckles, ornamental trim, and other accessories to covers or frames using hand tools./liliDesign upholstery cover patterns and cutting plans based on sketches, customer descriptions, or blueprints./liliDraw cutting lines on material following patterns, templates, sketches, or blueprints using chalk, pencils, paint, or other methods./liliMake, restore, and/or create custom upholstered furniture using hand tools and knowledge of fabrics and upholstery methods./liliRead work orders and apply knowledge and experience with materials to determine types and amounts of materials required to cover workpieces./liliAnalyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems./liliInspect work and ensure Health & Safety procedures are followed and quality systems are maintained to meet production targets./liliPerform general housekeeping, cleaning, and keeping the work area tidy./liliFollow company standard operating procedures./li/ulbPhysical Demands/Working Conditions:/bulliMust be able to sit for long periods of time and push and pull various fabrics./liliMust be able to climb, stoop, kneel, and reach./liliMust be able to make substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and fingers./liliMust be able to hear, see, and communicate through written and verbal means./liliMust be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force (push/pull)./liliWork is performed inside a warehouse environment with good ventilation, but the employee is exposed to hot temperatures, dirt, dust, and loud noises./liliMust be flexible and available to work in other areas based on company needs./liliStaff must remain flexible and available to provide staffing assistance for any/all disaster or emergency situations./li/ul
