Activity Therapy Specialist

Touchette Regional Hospital is seeking a committed professional to fill the role of Activity Therapy Specialist. This position involves delivering therapeutic activities to individuals receiving treatment for mental health conditions. Key responsibilities include facilitating psychoeducational sessions, organizing client group activities, managing the schedules of activity therapy staff, and overseeing the inventory of departmental supplies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in direct client interactions as necessary
  • Ensure safety within the unit
  • Perform assessments and track client development
  • Design and implement structured activities tailored for clients
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary treatment teams
  • Provide training and oversight to other staff members
  • Participate in meetings and professional development sessions
  • Foster positive relationships among team members and clients

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Activity Therapy or a related discipline
  • Preferred experience of at least one year in a similar role
  • No specific certifications or licenses are required
  • Understanding of developmental principles
  • Capability to assess and cater to clients across various age groups
