Peer Specialist

As a Peer Specialist at Mental Health Systems, Inc., you will play a vital role in supporting individuals in their recovery journey from mental health and substance use disorders. Your personal experience and education will enable you to provide education, support, and interventions that empower clients to manage their symptoms and achieve their goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide case consultation, crisis intervention, and discharge placement to assist clients in meeting their basic needs and symptom management.
• Complete accurate and timely documentation as contractually required and meet minimum requirements for direct billable client services.
• Offer peer counseling and support, drawing on your own consumer experience to build trust and commonality with clients and their families.
• Facilitate placement, including pre-placement visits and transportation as needed.
• Participate in scheduled program meetings and maintain confidentiality of client care.

Qualifications:

• Peer Specialist Certification required.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Life experience in mental health or SUD recovery or family and willingness to disclose required.
• Valid CA driver's license and current auto insurance per contract requirements required.
• Cultural competency understanding required. Bilingual preferred.
