We are seeking an experienced Principal Mechanical Engineering Project Lead to join our team at Bowman. This individual will oversee the execution of complex mechanical design projects, ensuring timely delivery within budget constraints.

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply advanced knowledge of engineering principles and procedures to lead complex mechanical design projects.
  • Manage people and processes to ensure effective execution and review work produced by staff for quality assurance.
  • Actively market the firm's capabilities to establish new clients and enhance relationships with existing ones.
  • Represent project teams in client communications and resolutions.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to meet project requirements.
  • Design complex mechanical systems according to current code requirements and sound engineering principles.
  • Perform project development for complex projects, including finalizing scope, preparing bid summaries, budgets, and cost estimates.
  • Prepare and direct preparation of designs, specifications, plans, estimates, and reports for projects.
  • Review job cost sheets and prepare monthly billings to ensure projects stay within budget allocation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline required.
  • Eight or more years of industry-related experience in designing commercial, government, academic, R&D, multi-family, industrial, and similar projects.
  • Minimum three years of assistant project management experience.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, REVIT, TraneTrace, and/or eQuest modeling software.
  • EIT and LEED accreditation strongly preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $90,000 - $120,000 per year, along with a comprehensive benefits package. Compensation will be determined based on the candidate's experience and qualifications.
