About the Role

As a Senior Cloud Architect within the Strategic Accounts segment at Amazon, you will partner with our most valuable customers to design cloud architectures utilizing AWS services. Your expertise in cloud computing will help our customers solve business challenges such as rapidly releasing products/services to the market or building an elastic, scalable, cost-optimized application.

You will engage with product owners to influence product direction and help our customers tap into new markets by utilizing AWS Services. Your ability to identify patterns and trends that can be broadly applied across an industry segment or a set of customers will accelerate innovation.

As a core member of the account team, you will drive revenue growth across a specific customer. You will be a trusted customer advocate, helping organizations understand and implement advanced cloud-based solutions, and how to migrate and scale existing workloads in the cloud.

You will have the opportunity to shape and execute a strategy to build knowledge and broad use of AWS. You will also need to be adept at interacting, communicating, and partnering with other teams within AWS, as well as representing your team to executive management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement cloud architectures utilizing AWS services
  • Partner with customers to solve business challenges and accelerate innovation
  • Drive revenue growth across a specific customer
  • Be a trusted customer advocate and help organizations understand and implement advanced cloud-based solutions
  • Shape and execute a strategy to build knowledge and broad use of AWS

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience in specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics)
  • 5+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures
  • Working knowledge of cloud technologies
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field of study or 12+ years of related work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 7+ years design & implementation experience with large distributed applications
  • 5+ years of experience in core disciplines (E.g. compute, networking, storage, security, database architecture)
  • Professional experience architecting, operating cloud-based solutions
  • AWS Solution Architecture certification or relevant cloud expertise
  • Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud
  • Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with executives, IT Management, and developers
  • Experience in technology/software sales or pre-sales consulting
