About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Laboratory Director to lead our team at CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi-South. This is a full-time position responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the laboratory department.

Job Summary

The Clinical Laboratory Director will be responsible for managing the laboratory's administrative, technical, and quality assurance activities. This includes ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, maintaining accreditation standards, and promoting a culture of safety and quality within the department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure accurate and timely test results
  • Oversee the management of personnel, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations
  • Maintain and improve laboratory operations, including purchasing and maintenance of equipment and supplies
  • Ensure compliance with CLIA, CAP, AABB, JCAHO, OSHA, and other relevant regulations
  • Collaborate with the Laboratory Medical Director and System Director of Laboratory Services to develop and implement strategic plans for laboratory growth and improvement
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in clinical laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution or equivalent laboratory training and experience meeting the requirements defined in the CLIA regulation 42CFR493.1489 required
  • Minimum of 3-5 years Clinical Laboratory Experience in moderate/high complexity testing for the specific section/area of responsibility preferred
  • Minimum 2 year of Supervisory experience required
  • Must possess Certification for MLS, MLT, MT from ASCP, AMT, AAB, or HEW/HHS.
Salary Information

The estimated salary range for this position is $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
