Job Summary:
The Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for supporting operations by installing, repairing, and maintaining machinery and diesel mechanical equipment. They will be required to locate sources of problems by inspecting, observing, and utilizing their knowledge to complete needed repairs in a timely manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and perform diagnostics to determine issues with equipment.
- Perform mechanical repairs as needed.
- Maintain sanitation and housekeeping in the work area.
- Proven experience in fleet operations (10+ years preferred).
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance.
- Proficient in using computer systems and software.
- Excellent safety record.
- Capacity to motivate and build morale within the group.
- Experience, and the ability to supervise, train, and hold associates accountable for performance and results.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- Ability to work overtime during the week or on weekends.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Must be able to read, write, and perform basic math.
- Resourceful, well-organized, and dependable.
- Excellent communication skills.
- High School or Equivalent.
- 5+ years of prior diesel mechanical experience.
- 5+ years of senior-level diesel background.
- ASE and Certifications, or equivalent a plus.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and a 3-year driving history that is acceptable to our auto insurance carrier.
- Basic Mechanics Toolset up to 1-1/4" Standard and 32mm Metric.
- Possess or Ability to obtain a TWIC card.
Duties Include:
- Managing the equipment maintenance program for our onsite equipment.
- Overseeing internal shop operations.
- Welding when needed but not required.
- Maintaining parts inventory and ordering.
- Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose repairs and delegate accurate work instructions for repairs when necessary.

Physical Demands/Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to stand, walk, use hands, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The work environment involves hazards, risks, or discomforts typical of working around with or around machinery with exposed moving parts, arrant chemicals, heavy equipment, extreme heights, or abusive or hostile clientele and patients. Exposure to disagreeable weather conditions and extreme levels of temperature, ventilation, lighting, and sound is normal. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

RESUMEN DEL PUESTO DE MECÁNICO DE DIÉSEL:
El mecánico de diésel será responsable de apoyar las operaciones instalando, reparando y manteniendo maquinaria y equipos mecánicos diésel. Se requerirá que localicen fuentes de problemas mediante inspección, observación y utilizando su conocimiento para completar las reparaciones necesarias de manera oportuna.

Diagnosticar y realizar diagnósticos para determinar problemas con el equipo.
Realizar reparaciones mecánicas según sea necesario.
Mantener la higiene y limpieza en el área de trabajo.
Experiencia comprobada en operaciones de flota (10 años o más preferidos).
Fuertes habilidades de liderazgo y comunicación.
Excelentes habilidades para resolver problemas.
Capacidad para trabajar bien bajo presión.
Conocimiento de las regulaciones y el cumplimiento de seguridad.
Competente en el uso de sistemas y software informáticos.

Experiencia, y la capacidad para supervisar, capacitar y responsabilizar a los asociados por su desempeño y resultados.

REQUISITOS MÍNIMOS:
Capacidad para trabajar horas extras durante la semana o los fines de semana.
Fuertes habilidades de comunicación oral y escrita.
Debe ser capaz de leer, escribir y realizar matemáticas básicas.
Recursos, bien organizado y confiable.
Excelentes habilidades comunicativas.
Escuela secundaria o equivalente.
5+ años de experiencia previa en mecánica diésel.
5+ años de experiencia diésel a nivel superior.
ASE y certificaciones, o equivalente un plus.
Debe poseer una licencia de conducir válida y un historial de conducción de 3 años que sea aceptable para nuestro transportista de seguros automotores.
Juego básico de herramientas mecánicas hasta 1-1/4" estándar.
Poseer o tener la capacidad de obtener una tarjeta TWIC.

Gestionar el programa de mantenimiento de equipos para nuestro equipo en el lugar.
Supervisar las operaciones internas del taller.
Soldadura cuando sea necesario pero no requerido.
Mantener el inventario de piezas y hacer pedidos.
Capacidad para solucionar problemas y diagnosticar reparaciones y delegar instrucciones de trabajo precisas para las reparaciones cuando sea necesario.
