We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our team at NYC Health + Hospitals as a Behavioral Health Specialist for the Bariatric Program. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to provide psychological consultation, support, and intervention to bariatric patients.
Key Responsibilities- Provide psychological evaluation and support to preoperative bariatric surgery patients, including written evaluations and interpretation of data.
- Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings and attend staff meetings to discuss patients.
- Provide individual, family, and group psychotherapy and psychological support to postoperative bariatric surgery patients.
- Address psychopathology, body image, self-esteem, social support, and quality of life issues.
- Participate in in-service activities, such as patient care conferences, psychology staff meetings, and departmental training activities.
- Perform related duties, including quality assurance activities, supervision of psychology interns, and representation at administrative meetings.
- Participate in continuing education and other activities to maintain current licensure.
- Doctoral degree in Psychology.
- Valid license as a Psychologist issued by the New York State Department of Education.
- Four years of satisfactory full-time experience in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, School Psychology, Forensic Psychology, Clinical Health Psychology, or Neuro-Psychology.
- At least one year of experience under the direct supervision of a qualified Psychologist or Psychiatrist.
- At least three years of experience in a supervisory capacity as a licensed Psychologist.
