Position Overview:

Under the guidance of the Center Director, the Pre-K Teacher Assistant plays a crucial role in collaborating with the Pre-K Lead Teacher to design and implement educational activities and manage the daily operations of the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the teacher to organize the classroom into functional learning areas.
  • Ensure a clean, healthy, and safe classroom environment.
  • Maintain constant supervision of children during all activities.
  • Monitor children's physical conditions and report any concerns to the teacher.
  • Conduct assessments of children's development and provide feedback on their progress.
  • Assist in preparing lesson plans and materials that are engaging and age-appropriate.
  • Lead individual, small, and large group activities that promote learning.
  • Manage classroom behavior positively and establish rules in conjunction with the teacher.
  • Participate in required meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
  • Follow all safety and health guidelines, including mandatory reporting of any concerns.

Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including lifting and carrying children up to 50 lbs.

Employment Requirements:

  • Successful completion of a pre-employment background check.
  • Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
