Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Telemetry team at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center, Inc. As an LPN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in direct patient care and supportive activities under the supervision of licensed nursing staff.
  • Maintain and apply principles of safety to ensure a secure environment for patients and staff.
  • Recognize and escalate patient concerns to the appropriate authorities.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare team members to provide comprehensive patient care.
  • Actively participate in outstanding customer service and maintain respectful relationships with patients, families, and colleagues.
Essential Functions
  • Perform vital sign monitoring, wound dressing, and basic procedures as delegated by licensed nursing staff.
  • Administer IV therapy as required.
  • Utilize knowledge of patient age and cultural diversity to provide individualized care.
  • Respond to call lights, phones, and other requests from nursing staff.
  • Observe and report changes in patients' physical, mental, and emotional conditions to licensed nursing staff.
  • Contribute to quality nursing care through techniques that support positive patient outcomes.
  • Adhere to HIPAA regulations regarding Protected Health Information (PHI).
  • Provide care to patients across the lifespan, from newborn to geriatric.
Minimum Knowledge and Skills Required
  • Knowledge of LPN functions in a hospital environment.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks.
Preferred Knowledge and Skills
  • Previous experience in a medical center or hospital environment.

Minimum Education and Experience Required
  • Graduate of an approved LPN program.
  • Successful completion of an Intravenous Fluid Therapy course and passage of the IV Therapy exam.
Preferred Education and Experience
  • Previous experience in a medical center or hospital environment.
Required License/Registration/Certification
  • Current licensure as an LPN in the State of Kansas.
  • Healthcare Provider BLS through the AHA or ARC within 30 days of hire.
