Accounting Executive with Financial Analysis Expertise

About the Role:
As a Senior Associate in Fund Accounting at SS&C Technologies Holdings, you will play a pivotal role in preparing and processing transactions and financial reports for Hedge Funds and Private Equity Funds. This position demands sound judgement in applying accounting principles to complex transactions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in deliverables. Your analytical skills will be put to the test as you review transaction documentation, understand investment features, and perform reconciliations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality work product within defined timelines, focusing on accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare work paper files, including capital activity, income and expense accruals, and investment activity, to ensure seamless financial reporting.
- Update distribution waterfall models to reflect carried interest calculations.
- Prepare management fee calculations and supporting schedules to meet client requirements.
- Review transaction documentation, understanding the features of investment transactions, accruals, and other complex financial concepts.
- Perform reconciliations, process journal entries, and maintain accurate cash balances.
- Support the year-end audit process, collaborating with the team, clients, and auditors to ensure a smooth process.
- Actively engage with clients, counter-parties, and external advisors, such as legal counsels, auditors, and tax advisors, to meet critical deadlines.
- Analytically review daily and monthly results to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Mathematics, or a related field; a CPA and/or MBA is a plus.
- 2+ years of experience in Accounting, with a focus on alternative investments, Private Equity/Real Assets experience, or Hedge Funds being a plus.
- Knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other comprehensive accounting concepts; knowledge of investment partnerships is a plus.
- Experience preparing and reviewing general ledgers, work papers, and financial statements.
- Deadline-oriented with strong attention to detail and the ability to complete assigned tasks independently.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team successfully.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, with advanced Excel skills required.
