Position: Sprinkler Sales Representative
The main responsibility of this position is to effectively represent the company in promoting and selling fire sprinkler systems to General Contractors and end users within a designated region. This role also involves estimating and quoting fire sprinkler installations for commercial, institutional, and industrial facilities, fostering new business relationships, and maintaining positive interactions with clients. The representative will initiate contact with potential clients, assess their needs, and follow up on leads while implementing marketing strategies. Building strong business relationships and expanding the sprinkler service division is essential.
This role demands a proactive individual who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with a strong emphasis on sales and customer satisfaction. Travel to customer locations is a requirement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, select, and cultivate new and existing customer accounts.
- Maintain effective communication with clients to ensure satisfaction with our services and products.
- Meet contractual obligations and actively resolve customer issues.
- Provide quotes for services and follow up on inquiries.
- Engage with prospects and qualify potential buyers through scheduled sales calls and strategic marketing.
- Understand customer needs and develop tailored sales strategies.
- Achieve sales targets and exceed objectives.
- Interpret blueprints and adhere to NFPA standards and local regulations.
- Build and nurture relationships with customers, contractors, and end users.
- Collaborate with branch staff to ensure exceptional customer service throughout the process.
- Conduct customer surveys as needed.
- Establish and maintain vendor relationships.
- Obtain necessary licenses and certifications for job functions.
- Complete monthly call schedules as directed by management.
- Follow company protocols and complete paperwork accurately and promptly.
- Enhance sales skills and product knowledge to maintain a professional presence.
- Read and analyze architectural and mechanical drawings to determine sprinkler placements for new and renovation projects.
- Travel to customer and job sites as required.
Qualifications:
To succeed in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to fulfill essential duties effectively. The following qualifications are essential:
- High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
- An Associate's degree in a technical or business field related to fire suppression is advantageous.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in selling service contracts within the Fire Protection sector is required.
- Previous experience in sprinkler design, including estimating and hydraulic calculations, is a plus.
- Familiarity with NFPA standards is essential.
- Knowledge of industry best practices for service and inspection is required.
