Position: Rehabilitation Therapy Assistant

We are seeking a qualified Rehabilitation Therapy Assistant to support patients in enhancing their mobility and overall well-being. This role is situated within a Primary Care Office, collaborating closely with our healthcare providers and under the supervision of the physical therapist. The primary focus is on assisting patients with medical issues or other conditions that hinder their ability to move or engage in daily activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute designated aspects of care and interventions while adhering to the care plans established by healthcare providers and physical therapists.
  • Educate and guide patients and their caregivers effectively in therapeutic exercises.
  • Assess patient needs and demonstrate compassion, care, and empathy towards individual differences.
  • Advise on options, treatment plans, or adjustments in selected therapies to ensure patient progress, safety, and comfort.
  • Utilize the latest research to aid in restoring function, minimizing symptom frequency, and preventing injuries.
  • Complete necessary documentation to support the provision of physical therapy services.
  • Conduct selected data collection and ensure accurate information is obtained.
  • Measure patient performance and document findings in the medical record.
  • Comply with ethical and legal standards in practice.
  • Maintain ongoing competence and stay updated with advancements in the field.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience as a rehabilitation therapy assistant.
  • Strong understanding of physiological best practices and standards.
  • Practical experience with therapeutic exercises, functional training, and physical modalities.
  • Effective communication and instructional skills.
  • Proficient in healthcare administration and documentation.
  • Valid license to practice or relevant certification.
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy Assistance.
  • Capability to lift over 40 lbs.
