Position Overview
Kiewit Infrastructure Engineers (KIE) is seeking a motivated Geotechnical Engineering Intern to join our expanding Geotechnical Group.
As part of our dynamic Infrastructure Design Department, you will engage with various disciplines including structural, geotechnical, civil, drainage, roadway, rail, and materials engineering.
This division is at the forefront of innovation, providing exceptional technical expertise aimed at the design-build delivery of infrastructure projects.
District Overview
Kiewit Infrastructure Engineering's Design-Build team is pivotal in guiding clients through all phases of design-build projects. Our integrated design and construction methodology allows our multi-disciplinary team to collaborate effectively, enhancing schedules, controlling costs, and mitigating risks.
Our construction-oriented engineers work in tandem with estimators and builders to create solutions that are not only innovative but also practical and safety-focused.

Location
This position is based out of our Lenexa, KS office.
Responsibilities
- Conduct foundation design, subsurface exploration, and construction engineering tasks.
- Revise geotechnical reports and specifications.
- Review and verify design calculations.
Qualifications
- Availability to work full-time in the office during the designated semester.
- Pursuing a Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or a related field.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Demonstrate a strong work ethic and commitment to completing tasks.
- Exhibit good written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to engage fully in job assignments at various locations.
