About the Role
This Medical Surgical Registered Nurse position is based in Columbia, Missouri, and involves working with patients who require specialized nursing care in a medical-surgical setting. As a member of our interdisciplinary healthcare team, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized patient care plans that cater to the unique needs of each patient.
Responsibilities Include:
• Providing direct nursing care to patients in medical-surgical units, including assessment, medication administration, wound care, and monitoring vital signs.
• Collaborating with healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients, ensuring seamless communication and coordination of care.
• Educating patients and their families on post-surgical care instructions, medication management, and recovery expectations, promoting informed decision-making and empowering patients to take control of their health.
• Ensuring accurate documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in compliance with regulatory standards, maintaining transparent and accountable records.
• Participating in multidisciplinary rounds, contributing to comprehensive care discussions, and identifying opportunities for process improvements.
Requirements
To succeed in this Medical Surgical Registered Nurse role, you must possess current RN licensure, BLS certification, and at least two years of recent experience in medical-surgical nursing. Strong communication and adaptability skills are essential, enabling you to navigate complex healthcare situations and respond effectively to changing patient needs.
