Mechanical Draftsman

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Detailer to join our team at Prolec-GE Waukesha, Inc. This is a full-time position (24 hours per week minimum considered for part-time applicants).

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for completing detail drawings for designs of varying complexity, including checking others' work. They will work closely with the Mechanical Designer and other engineering support personnel to ensure timely project completion.

Main Responsibilities:

• Complete mechanical detailing of transformers, including internal and external components and accessories based on documentation provided in project design folders, standard practices, and/or technical advisors' guidance.
• Provide technical support and training to colleagues.
• Collaborate with the supervisor to ensure detailed drawings are completed by due dates.
• Identify and implement corrective actions when shop problems arise. Consult with shop and QA personnel regarding interferences or interpretations of engineering information.
• Support development projects as requested by the supervisor, which may involve completing standard processes or practices.
• Develop and recommend new procedures to enhance the efficiency of the detailing process.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Familiarity with Pro Engineer and Microsoft suite programs.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with various employees and departments.
• A strong understanding of shop methods, industry standards, and drafting procedures.

Salary and Benefits:

The estimated salary for this role is $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience. Additional benefits include health insurance, retirement plan, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
